Sepsis is a life-threatening response to infection that can lead to tissue damage, organ failure, and death. Those who survive often face a lengthy and challenging recovery, with symptoms persisting long after the initial infection has been treated. Symptoms and Diagnosis PSS includes a wide range of symptoms such as chronic fatigue, muscle and joint pain, cognitive impairment (often referred to as "brain fog"), sleep disturbances, mood disorders like anxiety and depression, hair loss, and even post-infection bowel syndrome.
